    Piston and rod Question

I have some flat top mahle pistons that call for a 6.100 rod and I also have some 6.125 eagle rods. will that .025 longer rod make it impossible to use the two together. I know it sounds like a noob question.

Longer rod is going to push the piston up higher in the block. You need to check and see what the deck height is for those pistons with a 6.100 rod. It could push them out 0.010 or it could be 0. The 6.125 rods could cause some clearance issues and increase the compression quite a bit. Thats why they make different compression heights for different rods and pistons.

yeah that is what I was thinking. I wasn't sure. I will look in the deck height. I would still like to run the flat tops with the 317's and run 15psi. I think that would make powerful combo. Thanks for the input and info Jon

Got me a straight up trade for the rods i need in a 6.1 length woo hoo Lets just hope the 10.6:1 compression isn't too much for 12 psi.
