well i have put my lq4 back together and bought a beefier ls2 timing chain for it but there seems like there is alot of slack in the chain and i was wondering if this was normal if not what should i do

it ain't that I'm too big to listen to the rumors, It's just that I'm too damn big to pay attention to 'em..That's the difference
so should i get a ls2 sprocket or will i be okay with my ls1 i dont want my timing to be off or anything to get messed up

probably best to get the ls2 cam sprocket, its meaty to say the least, and if you wanted, you could switch to the front cam sensor, no idea why though. . . but yeah, get a sprocket

NO reason to switch. The cam sprockets are identical. They both measure .210 thickness. And the gears are identical..
so should i just leave the chain the way it is cause i dont want to much slack in it..

I don't see a need for one. Unless your reving over 7k and making alot of power..like 600+hp
