    Cam sugestions

Hi everyone. I'm new to this site so any info would help. I have a 04 2500 with a 6.0L. I use it to tow a 12000 lb 5th wheel. I put 243 heads on to bump the compression up and also have a diablo tunner. Other than that pretty stock. I'm looking for a cam that would give more torque and mileage while towing. Also any input on roller rockers 1.7 or 1.8 or just leave the stock ones alone?

do you think those would be too much for towing? I know bigger isnt always better when it comes to cams. Also would more lift, form the 1.8 rockers, benefit or hurt my towing? Any idea how much lift you can run until you get into clearance problems on the LQ4?

Will you still need to tow? My advice is to leave it stock if you still need to tow regularly. If not, I know some good 2500HD combos if your willing to do a stall along with the cam.

The cam you listed would work well with towing and stock stall. But ask around, Ive observed people going with cams that size that end up wishing they had gone bigger. Thats the conundrum, small cam - small performance gain, big cam - big gain but have to run stall and wont tow very well.

I mainly use it for towing so I was trying to find the most torque I could from a cam. I'm willing to change the stall if it would help the towing. I know the hp and rpm's won't be there with those cams but I'm looking for bottom end gains

I would go with the 212/218 cam. Your 10+:1 c/r 6.0 will suck that cam up. Should produce plenty of lowend torque.

Ok. Thanks guys. Looks like I'll go with the 212/218 and leave the stock converter in. Any feelings on rocker arms? Will rollers help at all to free up some friction? Will more lift from some 1.8's do me any good? Or just save the money for some other upgrades?

Well you already have roller tips. So all you would gain is .590 intake and .596 exhaust... vs .558/.563
