After only 140,000 miles, my stock 5.3 has died! Is there anyone that knows of a shop in northern California (I'm in Sacramento) that is reputable and has decent labor rates? I don't have the tools and space to do a swap myself, and I don't have a deep pocket full of cash to pay for what repairs. The truck is a 2003 GMC Sierra SLT ECSB Z71 Offroad fully loaded. It started using coolant, and no one has been able to find where it was going. It was using about a gallon of coolant every 2-3k miles with no evidence of leaks (the water pump was replaced at 107k miles because it was leaking). Then, I got an oil change at Jiffy Lube, and refused their "engine cleaner", as I normally change the oil myself but had shoulder surgery and couldn't. I did two oil changes and used a quart of Rinsol, but on Monday I lost oil pressure.....

Part of me wants to make it my weekend project, but I don't have all the resources to do that, and the other part of me never wants to own another GM!!! Sorry for the long message.....
