    Swirls and Claybar?

I guess the previous owner of my truck loved drive through car washes. After the lovely spray on detailer the dealers used washed off, it is easy to see teh swirls on the truck on the sides.

Will a clay bar help this or is going to need buffed out?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I claybared my whole truck and it just looked amazing, i also did a good wax after the claybar and it took out some to most of the swirls. It really is worth the time to claybar the finish is so smooth and my truck looks great even when it is dirty. I havent washed it in about a month and it still looks fresh.

Claybar won't take out swirls like you prolly want it to. Buffer with a fine cut compound after a claybar, then wax.
GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT RICER MATH!

i used the meguiars clay kit and it worked good for me. i believe the swrils are gonna need to be buffed out. the wax will hide very little. use some swril remover polish then wax.

I work in a body shop and never have I ever seen a claybar take out swirls. Get a orbital polisher from the local auto parts store. And meguiars 3 step kit to get the swirls out.

Clay bar will sometimes actually leave swirl marks, always always always have to polish after using one. I use the meguiars fine cut

swirl marks are caused from buffing, claybars will not remove them , you have to use a fine polish/ hand glaze , go real light with a buffer and dont use the edge of the pad leave it flat on the panel and then use it by hand and go in straight lines not circles, that should help

    ok here..
Clay Magic Auto Clay Bars - The Best Auto Detailing Clay Bar for Car Care use THAT claybar and THAT lube.
trust me.. i work for the company that owns them.. ive used mequires, zaino, turtle wax.. none of those claybars or thier lube compare to clay magic..
    THEN..
get a zaino kit.. about 80 bucks
do it by hand.. and you wont notice the swirls.. true they are probably there, but OPTICALLY, you wont notice them
i do my truck by hand every time.. (i just got a pc7424, but no pads yet) and i get compliments on mine constantly.. and i dont even notice the swirls that i KNOW are there.
