    jet dst not working, any sugestions?

    i have been trying to get my jet dst working and i am on my 3rd usb to serial connector and the jet box will not communicate with my computer but the light on the box says its working. i have a hp pavillion laptop and i am running 64 bit vista and have been told that is my problem more than once, i am pretty much done buying connectors and do not want to buy a new laptop to tune my truck. has any one else had this problem or want to buy a dst tuner? from what i have herd the jet programming is not the best but is pretty decent, jets customer service dept. has been pretty helpful but still has not got me anywhere. any one have any suggestions? and how dose the nelsons tune work? (getting the computer and ect.) and how much $ and deposit? im running out of time on getting the computer part of my build going and im ready to get my avalanche supercharged. thanks...

    and ya it will beat a hemi.

    Use a real serial port adapters suck, I have TCII and a serial port on my laptop and never had a problem one. TC sold out to JET a while back and the DST is the same software that I use although you are the first person I've heard to brag on there customer service.

    We flash a pcm with GM's latest calibration, read it, I edit the file to compliment your trucks mods, then we ship it out, you then have 21days to return the core.
    The tune is $300 and includes free updates.

    I would consider hptuners, it's easy to use and the GUI is straight forward.
    Plus, it works with Win7 (and I've heard 64bit as well).
    Plus, you'll be able to real time tune and 2bar tune with hptuners, makes for fast tuning.

    ive called jet several times and if the person helping me couldnt help they gave me a # or persons name that could, it didnt get me anywhere but at least they tried, oh well as soon as i sell it looks like im giving nelsons $300, if someone not running 64 bit vista needs a tuner??? im 100% for sure nelsons would do a better job than i would anyways
