    Obd3,4,5...

I always try to stay up on the latest stuff concerning obd related stuff, as much as I can.

Anyone hear of anything crazy coming out?

All I can think of is what GM and other makers are going to start doing to lock vehicles down.
They sale it as features, security, safety, but in reality it's big brother looking down on us.

What about that commercial showing the cops following the jacked Tahoe, OnStar blinks the lights, cops verify it, the Tahoe shuts down.
    Imagine the possibilities?

Failed emissions, out dated inspection, registration, excessive fuel detected by one of those hiway meters, late payments, court costs, used as tracking device, etc.
Then what about when programmers and hackers start catching on to the chaos they could cause, lol.

it is scary to think that, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. that also means that dealers and shops will have to buy new equipment and send techs off to learn about this new technology.

This is why my truck is the newest thing I'll own, I'm all for technology improving effiency, performance, cost, safety etc. But when all these nanny things kick in its a PITA. It's a game of who can come up with the best gadget. Didn't this already happen in the '80s? Mid-90s it was all gone
