    Oil pressure Sending Unit

    Can anyone explain to me how a opsu in a 2004 lq4 works. It has three wires coming out. One goes to +5v, another is ref low, and the last is the pressure signal. I am confused because the opsu i have seen are grounded to the block and have one wire going directly to the gauges. Anyone out there help me understand this. Thanks!

    Some sending units work off resistance to ground (1 wire), but the 3 wire sensors work by a 5 volt reference. They vary the signal from 0-5 volts.
