    Injector question

I have a 2001 5.3 Z71 stock... I just changed motor and wiring harness, motor turns over fine but wont start.. I checked the injectors and one side is staying hot but the other side won't pulse when I turn it over... I'm not made of money so I was gonna see if anyone could help me fix the problem without having to go to a mechanic.. Tachometer doesn't read when I am turning it over... Thanks and any help is appreciated..

    no tach, check crank signal.
no power to injectors, start at the injector and work your way back to the ignition, maybe a broke wire or fuse.

Tach isn't supposed to read until it starts. Staying hot doesn't help in diag since all 8 injectors have power all the time and the PCM toggles ground to fire them. You most likely have one side of the coil grounds not attached.

Mine does, as I'm cranking it, the tach show a couple hundred rpm, it'll continue to show rpms as long as it's cranking.

aren't we talking about tach and crank signal and rpms, lol, so "it" would be a scanner, lol.

You might want to let us know more info on what you did. Year of the motor. What wiring harness. Same PCM? Lot of variables here.

Regardless of a working sensor that's amazing! lol. When they get older they don't produce enough juice to be read right...
