    Need Help, this Question has been asked before

    i bought a 2005 complete lq9, with computer, i want to install it in my 2000 silverado z71, what do i need to make it work....
    thx's fellas....just bought it Sunday....

    Should just be able to drop it right in.

    ok, does that mean like just the way it sit's?..leave everything on the eng?

    ok i read the sticky, still a little confused, does it mean the eng will drop in without removing any componets, what about the computer, should i use the 2000 the one thats in the truck now...

    use the computer in the truck to control the motor. the motor swap is no different then pulling your current motor and inserting the same motor you just pulled. just now yoru using the newer one. swap all parts from the 00 over to the new one that doesnt belong to tha truck

    Exactly. You need to keep the same PCM since it is already paired to that truck. Just have it flashed for an LQ9.

    If the accessories have less miles on the LQ9, keep them on. One main thing is the fuel system. Your truck now has a return style, and the 05 will have a returnless. Use your truck's current fuel system on the LQ9. But make sure just to swap the fuel lines...leave the injectors alone. It should just be as easy as disconnecting the fuel lines at the intake, unbolt the fuel lines from your current truck, and bolt it on the LQ9.
