Gotta cousin who wants to raise his front end about another inch over what his 2 inch leveling kit is.. and people have told me if you swap the left strut to the right side and or vise versa it will raise it about an inch.. is this true?

Never heard of that.
But 3'' of lift is gonna destroy the CV's(steep angles) and the ball joints will be pissed due to their angle and strain.
OR, you are gonna hit the bump stops.

We did a 2 inch leveling kit from ebay about a year ago on my bosses 07. Was a piece of cake and havent had any problems. Search ebay you will find them.
