    trans question

Can I make a 1999 pu trans work in my 96 tahoe? My 96 2 door tahoe has the l31 5.7l

    I can get a rebuilt 4l60e that was rebuilt 2200 miles ago but it is from a 1999 1/2 ton 4x4 p.u. 5.3l

Should bolt right up. The plugs are the same. You might have to take your pns switch from the left side and put it on the newer trans. Other than that i.don't see why it wouldn't work.

Don't think you can. Electrically they are identical but the input shaft and converter are different. You can go 96-99 WITH an adaptor, but not 99-96.

You could have the 99(300mm) input shaft removed and an 82-98(298mm) input shaft installed in the 99 model unit. Then of course use a 95-98 converter.
