Can A 10 Bolt Rear Be Moved Side To Side?

I have the usual 6" rear axle flip on my 1996 1/2 ton two-wheel drive GMC. Is there any reason I couldn't loosen my U-bolts & slide the rear-end back & forth, to center it better in the wheel-wells? Can't remember if there was leaf-spring centering pins or not, that would prevent you from doing this? Thanks

Yes there are pins, but even with the pins the rear end can get off a 1/4". I had it happen. Just reset everything and tightened it back up. No issues now.

    Rear Leaf-Springs...

So, the locating pins are on both the top, and the bottom, of the leaf-spring stack, huh? They protrude out both top & bottom?

yes, they have the round stud on bottom of the spring pack and the nut that clamps the springs together on top.
