    walbro fule pump

    i am trying to install my walbro 255 fuel pump and was wondering if anyone can give me a run down on the process. or point me in the right direction for a write up on how install it in the tank.

    If it's the truck in your sig I'd look at replacing your harness connector for one. The walbro is very similar to nearly every high pressure pump. Depending on the tools and knowledge you have depends on if it'd be easier to lift the bed or pull down the tank. Probably pulling the tank if you run her dry. On that truck you'll probably have some quick disconnects you'll fight. When you make it past that pull the assembly out and swap out the internals of the pump. ( depends on the walbro you bought too. Universal or specific) Inspect the wiring inside the tank area while you're at it.

    thanks for the reply yeah its the one in my sig. the pump in the truck right now is 6 months old just replacing it for the engine im building. i have all the tool i am a heavy duty mechanic just wondering if there is anything to watch out for. i got the universal one.

    You may have to cut the bucket out for the walbro. Also make sure you get a very good connection in the tank. There have been members that have topull their pump multiple times because they dont get good connections. I.e. dont use butt connectors. Solder it

    No problem, I am fixing to do the same thing for my truck. Gotta have it for my small Magnacharger upgrade.
