Coolant leak from Exhaust manifold hole

We put the Lq9 6.0 motor in my Tahoe..

All was smooth but ONE tiny issue.. I forgot to put one of the exhaust manifold bolts on he drivers side.. 2nd or 3rd one from front.

Reason I saw this was b/c when we started the truck we noticed some coolant seeping from that hole. AS soon as we put the bolt in, there was no more issue.

I find it weird that coolant would come OUT of that exhaust manifold hole...

    Thoughts??

Im reading that some people had this this issue anf used some sealant and was done w/ it... thoughts?v

    Huh? Weird.

But i guess it is possible if during the machining they had the drill and tap set too deep.

Not to laugh at your situation, but . That's the kind of stuff that would win in america's funniest home videos if the audience was a bunch of gear heads. How on earth does coolant come out of a header bolt hole?

Are the heads ported? The exhaust ports could be potato chiped enough to have broken through when enough pressure was put on the cooling system on start up. And now the header bolt has become a plug.
