    Shift light??

Hey guys, I'm wondering, is there any kind of setup where I can install a shift light in my truck and program each gear's shift point with my stock tach??? I mean without having to buy the aftermarket tach??
    Thanks guys!

old school, you just tapped into the coil...granted we have 8 instead of 1, but i'm assuming the theory is the same.

I'm sure someone else will chime in but you SHOULD be able to just wire the light to one of the coils (i believe it's the - side...i'm not 100% positive, shifty light should say)

Are you using the same RPM for each shift?

If you are talking about different RPMs for each shift point....I don't think there is such a thing.

Doubtful. You would need 2 or 3 seperate progrmable lights.

most shift light have pills...so you can set the rpm. If you want to have DIFFERENT shift points, just use a laptop and have different alarms set up

you could wire it in using a window switch and that will control when it comes on

my shift light is tapped into the white wire that is in the cluster. the white wire is the tach signal.

heres a thought, Ls1 style motors are 4cyl when using shift lights or tach.

my shift light is selectable for rpm but only has one rpm input.
