anyway to eliminate the Y pipe?

Im curious if theres anyway to run a set of longtubes with no y pipe? just for the fact that my truck is so low and i dont want to mess with making a y clear the frame. id rather go to my exhaust guy and have him do something custom for cheap if at all possible without losing hp or tq. i dnt want negative power.

anyone care to explain whats possible?

well, it is always best to have some sort of scavenging. Either a X or H pipe. Helps equalize pressure and helps give low end torque.

The Y is mainly to help hook to exhaust system and provide some scavenging, but no much. At most, you may lose some low end torque running true duals.

just run two pipes all the way back instead of merging them into a Y... but youd probably want t put an X pipe in there if youre running duals

Maybe a set of pacesetter LTs and header mufflers w/ turndowns. It'll be pretty loud.

you can't go out the back without crossing the ds exhaust pipe over to the ps. because of the gas tank

If you need a conventional exhaust w/ cats and junk maybe you could have a shop make a lowprofile y ou of that oval pipe the stock cars use.

Do that please sir. I know most of the y pipes fit even with the tranny crossmember but mine rubs now because it hangs about an inch below it stock, But in the near future i have to pull my tranny crossmember out and section it and bolt it back in so that it will sit flush with the frame and not scrape on driveways. therefore trying to get away from a y pipe.
