I have made there's no real performace gain from what o could see but they look a lot better IMO

Nope. There are more than three vendors/types because of GM contracting but they're found on different years and engine sizes.

Can't beat the truck coils. Lots of fbody guys run them and they have seen 10+ hp gain over the ls series coils.

yep there was a vid floating around with a guy testing all the diff factory coils and the LQ9 coils had the highest voltage and such...thats why they are the most wanted coils
