The spring metal is hard and brittle. I had a tough time getting some to budge and did so. The razor sharp pieces that came off were scary....one hit me in the face in my upper lip below my nose and stuck in the skin. Bleeding like a stuck pig I went to the restroom only to return to my tool box for a pair of needlenose pliers.
OK, one of the stories I promised many moons ago.
I'll tell the next one depending on whether engine hoist safety or proper usage of a pocket screwdriver comes up next.

Hey, it's true. The other story has to do with a pocket screwdriver and my nasal septum.
You do have the truck jacked up right? I ask because there was an idiot a couple weeks ago on gmfullsize who broke a bolt off trying to crank his torsion bars with the truck on the ground under its own weight.
Shock off, Upper ball joint off of spindle. So there is no weight what so ever on it. In back by key, just use a a hammer and a punch, and tap it forward after spraying it down with some PB or WD.

Hammer and punch? Well you got away with one this time.
In the back where the keys are, through the cross member. Done it a few times. Just tapn it though. I never really had a severely stuck one before.

Thinking out loud here but is it possible to drop the crossmember with the bars in place and then just pull it off.
