Comp 265 Idle surge and misfire

Hi,names Nathan, Im a another newbe, but have been freeloading here for awile and most the time I get the question answered with a little searching this forum is the best, just got a prob that I cant fig out just yet. Truck is a 01 5.3 and did a cam swap this sat, had a 01 ls6 cam with no problems just no bottom end perdy good power after 3k and put in a comp 265 high lift on a 114, because I've read that it wouldnt need tuning, now it barly idles, I would think it had a hot cam and is setting misfires at idle, smoothes out at about 800rpm and up. I think its idling were the pcm wants it to because I tried raising it with throttle stop screw and the pcm brought the idle back down, also didnt have any vacume lines off and the only elect/conn were the coils, and I double checked that the timing marks were right.Thoughts anyone?
    Thanks

Stop screw won't help and should be left alone. Now the TPS voltage is off. There is an idle air control that controls the idle speed via a controlled vacuum leak. You need a tune and to post up the advertised numbers off the cam so we don't have to research. There are several of us that are not too far from you if you need more help.

    BTW, welcome.

The 265 for sure needs tuning. Depending on your other mods and what tuning software you use I have a pretty good tune for that cam I could send you

yep just needs a little tweaking on the tune....stock idle is to low for that cam and that will cause the surging and then that in turn messes with the maf/map readings and thats where you get the misfire code from
