Question Long tube headers in AZ

I am in the military and thinking about changing my residency to Arizona from California because for tax/registration/smog issues. I was wondering if people in AZ have long tubes on thier trucks with cats, and if that is actually legal there. California's smog laws are just getting out of control with the road side smog check points and all. They wont let you have long tubes here in California, even with cats, and if you can pass the sniffer. SO....how are the smog laws, good, bad ugly? I was just wondering what a smog check is like for you guys. Are there state approved speed parts like the California Air Resource Board? How is the visual...if you have long tubes but with cats do they care? Any first hand info would be awesome. I am just tired of paying out the ass here in California for registration, and state approved speed parts. Thanks for the help in advance.....

    Smog laws?
    Whats that?

Last time I got the truck emissions tested they plug into the OBDII port and do a scan. Then did the good ole gas cap test. Then I got my pass paperwork and drove out. They dont check for crap. I personally dont have longtubes, but I dont have cats and I passed with flying colors.

There are no laws restricting any parts you want on your vehicle that I know of. The only laws I know of that pertain to vehicles is that if your truck has more than a 3 inch lift you have to have some sort of mud flaps.

20 North near Hullen (Fort Worth) there is a sniffer truck set up on entrance ramp to freeway , sniffs if you don't pass it snaps picture and you get a letter saying you need to fix your vehicle .
So yes Texas has the same moronic crap in some places , thanks California (sarcasm) !

Also depends on the county here.

BTW, there are laws that affect AZ. They're called Federal.....LOL. Removing or even tampering with the cats, especially before 80K/8 years is an offense....but who cares?

No one ever looks. Seriously if it has an OBDII port and there is no SES light you're golden.
