5.3 into a Grand Cherokee - Harness Questions
Hi guys. I'm swapping a 5.3L into my '98 Grand Cherokee. Right now I'm trying to finish the harness and I've got a few questions.
These are all on the ECU connectors
1. Can the fan output control be added to ECUs from 2003 and up in the firmware
2. What are "Requested torque" & "Delivered torque" signals (Blue 13, Green 5) what do these do
3. Should I incorporate the 4wd lo indicator into my harness (Green 16), does this change shift points or something
4. What is "Crank voltage" on Green 59, what do I need to hook it up to, or should I remove it
5. What is "Damping lift/dive signal" on blue 38,
6. Does the computer receive the A/C request over serial from the BCM, my harness doesn't have a request wire. If so is there a way it can be added when I have the computer reprogrammed, I'm trying to make the new A/C compressor work with the existing A/C setup already in the vehicle.
Thanks.

Off the top of my head
1) yes
2) ABS functionality
3) only if you're 4WD, yes it does what you think and has a speed limit in 4LO
4) gotta look it up, bump to remind
5) sounds like ABS and/or SSS... see #4
6) gotta know more about the swap for this one.

Thank you.
As for number 6.
The motor is out of a 2003 Silverado. My current ECU receives a 12V signal request for the AC compressor. I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to add or emulate this request for the chevy ECU so the transition to AC-on would be as subtle as it was stock.
