    Broke another tranny

    Well, I guess Its time to really do a 80e.It was nice and cool tonight ,so i went out for a good burst,took off from a red light,spiked 14-15# OF BOOST last time I looked up and bang,SOB.
    So what i need to know is ,what vehicle would be the best to get a 4wd 80e out of,do hd,s have em ?my 2wd hd does.
    Then what else am i gonna need to do?Im pretty sure ill need a gear for the transfer case [or is theyre a bolt in transfer that bolts on the 80],and a harness from allen,and does anyone have a diagram of theyre 4wd crossmember they fabbed up for the 80 to fit?shoot does the d/s have to be shortened also?Foggy maybe you can chime in ,I thought you did this.
    What upgrades do I need to do on the 80 ?shift kit?or is a stock 80 strong enough?
    Im so done with these 60-65 built azz trannies<i used billet eveything,5 pinion planets,etc Im done.
    I do have an spare truck or two for now so I can just take my time and do it right.God this does suck tho.I was just having fun.lol

    I haven't swapped to an 80e yet. I'm still running the flt 65e. If i ever break this one, i will be doing the swap.

    Sorry bud for some reason i thought you did,on 1 of my threads b4 you were the one that told me about the gear in the transfer case.

    When you are breaking these 60E's .... are you launching in 4wd or AWD mode ?
    are you brake boosting it ? or just flooring it ?

    This time it was 2-3 shift ,usually its 1-2 ,im pretty certain i broke another input or output shaft.its basically in neutral ,no nothing.
    I think the sticky is on a 2wd application.
