    shift kit install.

well ive looked around a little but im just curious to some of you guys opinions on how hard it is to install a shift kit in a 4l60e? ive never messed with the insides of a auto tranny much other than puling apart a 700r4 i blew up way back when in my 86 ta. im sure with a little support and better info i would be fine doing a shiftkit. ive done lots of internal engine work on gen 1 sbcs and a few hondas ect with assembly checking tollerances and all and i wouldnt think this would be much harder but im just cautious of fubaring up my dd before my motor is done for my car so i can drive it. anyway thanks guys.

Maybe it's time to get a shiftkit install HOW TO.

We use only Transgo HD-2 shiftkits along with a new plate, metal piston and vette servo with stock spring.
This way it shifts just right during all driving styles.

Yea about 4 hours, i was a rookie and did the transgo HD2 kit and worked out great. Must say its alot easier to do if the tranny is out of the truck but if not still should be ok just dont loose check balls.

ya, the pcm doesn't like the quick shifts and the TM really pokes his head out.
the truck will drive ok and you won't hurt anything, but get a tune to compliment the shiftkit.
the shiftkit will prolong the life of the trans and allow your tuner to remove all tm without any issues in the future.
