rearend crapped out need help!

ok, its my 04 2wd the second rear thats been in it has now failed. they are 1000 bucks a pop so i was wondering if i could say get an older one 88~98 and swap axles n brakes? second question, this guy has a complete carrier w.gears outta 05 truck but says its a 327 ratio. is this dude on crack or did gm accually make a 327 gear?

unless you get a corporate 14 or 8 lug...the older axle won't be any stronger.

i believe 3.43 is lowest gm used in 05, unless it's out of a car.

I have a great condition 3.43 open sitting behind the garage out of my 02. Would need to swap over brakes (cuz i took it all off for new rear) but axles are fine. You can have it if you can get it lol

Whats failing?

Just upgrade your carrier. Get away from the g80 if thats whats breaking.

8.6 10bolt is a good axle, just has the g80 problem. Ugrade to a Eaton round 400-500 and a good set of gears and install kit, bout 250-300.

The older ones are the same with drums and a few small differences.
