    noisy lifters

Hi. I'm new to this site, and new to posting altogether. I reacently bought an 07 silverado with the 4.3. The truck only has 22,000 on the clock. The other day it started pecking loudly. It sound like a lifter to me, but with the low miles I don't know what to think of it. Has anybody else out there had this problem? Know of any fixes?

It is a bad lifter or is it an oiling problem? Did you replace them with factory lifters?

was it when you just started it from a cold start? cause if its a pecking/knocking noise then thats something totally different that you dont have to worry about.

No its quiet on a cold start. It gets louder as the oil warms up. I also notice my oil pressure drops below 20 psi when its idling at a stop sign, after its warm. If I rev the motor and oil pressure comes up, the noise quiets down some. I would just take it to the dealer but i'm told the warranty is void since it has a rebild title. So i'm on my own for fixing it.

Salvage or Branded title = no warranty. You're really gonna have to pull it and tear it down to find the problem. Could be a spun cam bearing causing oil pressure loss and lifter noise or a spun rod bearing....not common but known to happen on previously abused 4.3's...although mine has been abused for nearly 212K miles...
