    cam help

i have been looking into a new cam but cannot decide which direction to go - looking heavily into the TR220 but don't know what i should do - or is there a better option - if i do go with it do i want 112lsa or 114? - what valve springs should i use? i thought of going with stock ls6 valve springs (very affordable) which handle up to .550 lift but i am not sure with the ramp rate of the cam is it going to be too much for it - don't really have the money right now for a stall coverter - how much is this going to affect my choice - i have read that the max stock 5.3 heads flow is at .550 lift so i don't see a need to go bigger than that - don't really have a high reving motor with it being stock bottom end - any other options???? - i have also heard good and bad about gm's hot cam...

i bought this exact cam, with the 112 lsa, and the PRC dual springs and 7.4 hardened push rods titanium retainers, new spring seals, spring hats, the goodies very nice kit. kit was like 7 or 800$ bucks i think? i love the cam, very responsive, sounds great, awesome drivability, and im not positive what my rev limiter is but its about 6k i know that and the cam pulls you all the way through the RPM Range, im running a 6 speed manual so it may feel different for you without a stall, but as far as the cam goes, i love it.

the lsa wont decide if you need a stall or not. If you want a choppy idle, get the 112. more mellow idle 114

Stall helps bandaid the rough bottom end of a tight LSA....so do lower gears.

right, but I dont think the low end of the 112 lsa will need a stall any more than the 114 lsa of this cam. Your still going to want a stall either way you slice it. But you dont HAVE to have one.
