    Mobil1 0 weight.

I was looking at the Mobil website the other day and saw that they have some new "Advanced Fuel Economy" that is basically 0w20 or 0w30 meant to replace regular weights. Seems like the thinner oil may lower oil pressure but I am pushing 55psi at 1000 RPMs anyway. Has anyone tried this yet? Or any type of 0 weight?

PS. If any of you use Mobil, they've got a rebate on their website for $10 off a 5 quart purchase.

ive been using 0w30 for 2 years now and i can tell a difference with it. Using it has given me an improvment in fuel economy but it has also quieted down the noisy lifters i had.

I used Mobil 0W30 when my truck was stock and you could hear the lifters a little with it.
It sure goes down the funnel fast.

Yep. M1 5W30 here. Change the oil annually in the Denali and 3 times per year in the Blazer.

Well DUH. The viscosity index of the oil is the "thickness" and is soley dependent on the temperatures in which it will flow. The lower the viscosity number, the thinner the oil. We all use multi-grade oil, hence the 5W30 designation. The "5W" is the cold start viscosity (0W is at -35 degrees Celsius, 5W is at -30 degrees Celsius, and 10W is at -25 degrees Celsius) and and the "30" is the viscosity of the oil at 100 degrees Celsius.
