    Dont trust tire shops

Being from middle of nowhere Arkansas i should have known. But the story goes as i got new tires all around my truck a few weeks ago. 2 had been leaking. So i took them up to where i got the tires told them to look at the two rims make sure that wasnt why they were leaking Check tires etc. More over just make sure all the air pressures match up on all 4. So today im changing the oil bout to go out of town and i decide to take a look at all the pressures to see if i still got leaks.... WELL one tire i told them to look at is at 10 lbs and is mounted wrong *the outside should have been on the inside*. So i air it up with plans to take it up there and get fixed monday. apparently they didnt even check the tire like I asked. Because if it leaked down in less than a day It would be leaking that fast now. And it isnt. So i go to the next tire. (This tire all i wanted them to do was check the pressure) So i put the gauge to it and *bing* pegs the gauge all the way out. It stops keeping track of pressure at 60lbs. I think my gauge is messed up so i check another tire and nope not the gauge. So i let air out for a minute check it again and *bing*. Still. I let out air for around 4 minutes before its down the 32 where i like to run mine. I figure it had to be at around 100lbs in a low profile 22. The lessong learned is never let anyone air up your tires. They may be stupid. And we all know that cant be fixed

100 psi is allot!!! thats about were we put the Fire truck tires at. Good for 42,000# fire truck. Im suprised it didnt blow the tires pressure gauge up in your hand. Thats what will happen if you put one on ours. Also check the date the tires were manufactured. it will be 4 numbers in a circle. Like 2408 will mean 24th week of 2008.

I take my wheels off the truck before going to the tire shop and then I watch them the entire time. I absolutely hate taking ym vehicles anywhere. No body cares about your stuff.

These dudes are not "techs". I would be insulting a actual "tech" if I called them that.

YEP!!! It’s kinda like at my shop...I ask all my employees "Why is there never enough time to do something right, but always enough time to do it over?"

Especially in my line of work… you can’t just half-a** build a 340amp alternator or build a 1000amp system consisting of 5, 200amp, alternators and over a mile of wiring and expect it to stay together.
