Was I really going this fast???

Was driving the truck 2 nights ago and saw some beautiful open road and it was about 45* so I punched it. passed 100 MPH and got the RPM's up to 5500 before I shut it down.

Got on to the web this morning and typed it in to a MPH calc, 5500RPM, Transmission: 1:1, Rear End: 3.73 Tire size: 31.6 and bam! it says i was doing 138MPH!

Was i really? or was it just lying lol

    Probably close.

I've only taken my GMC to 115 and the Blazer still has the stock tune so it shuts off around 94.

I am about 99% sure that calculator is only right if your converter is locked at WOT in 3rd gear. Which is not the case if you have a Nelson tune.

What about the time I took the '76 Delta 88 in "my garage" to 5400 RPM with a 29" tire, 3.42's, and a THM400....?
