    Which tires...? What size...?

So I ordered a set of 18" Weld Renegade 8.5" wheels (I currently have 20" wheels with 275/45/R20 Goodyears).

    Questions:

I would like to get as wide of a tire on the back as I can and maybe narrower on the front. Can you do that with rims that are the same size?

What tire size would I go with to maintain the same ride height as I currently have?

Which tire would be a good street tire giving traction for those "occasional" () times when I get on it on the street but still give a good ride and safety in wet conditions, etc? Was thinking of the BF Goodrich G Force T/A's on the back and something else on the front (same brand but something with better stopping ability)...

    Help.

you're going to have a hard time with anything bigger than a 285 width tire on a 8.5" rim. Still, that's over 10" wide.

I ran 305 on the rear with the Gibbs wheels, only 8.5" wide. 275 on the front. They would have been better with a wider rim, but still gave more meat.

Yeah---I am with everyone else. Do a 305 in back, and a 275 in front. You don't wanna go too small up front cause the tire won't look right on the rim... Maybe a 55-45 series?? Like 55 out back and 45 up front?

    275/55 front & 305/50 rear...

Only a .1" difference in overall height
