    CAI's

I hate to be redundant 'cause I know there have been questions before about CAI's but usually just one or two brands. When I bought the 'Ho in December I could find a K&N FIPK II for $230, now it's hard to find one for under $290, I guess the higher gas prices have driven up demand. In looking online there are several brands starting at $80 on up. Know anything about Kool-Vue, Pacesetter, Green, AFE, S&B, Street Performance, True Flow, AEM?

I'm already familiar with the AirRaids and K&N's.

Thanks. I'm not in the market right now, I like to check things out ahead of time, sometimes way ahead of time. I have a daughter starting college in three weeks and the car I'm sending her in needs new rubber. If I spend any money on the Tahoe I'll end up sleeping in it. When I get ready to buy I'll check back.

I would get one of the dry flow units - no oil. AEM Brute force is probably what I would get.

That's what a guy on a Tahoe forum I check out said. He works in an auto shop that sells K&N, AirRaid, Volant, AEM, said he picked the AEM no question when he bought one.

I am going to go with the AIRAID system.

I found it here : Airaid Intake for 1999-2007 GM Escalade, Silverado, Tahoe, Yukon, Avalanche, Suburban 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L

the "Dry" filters are nice in theory, but they are not a performance filter.

DRY filters hardly flow any air at all. I am not sure why people think they are so great.

Oil does not foul any mass air sensors, and you can read the truth here : K&N Response to Mass Air Flow Sensor Concerns

I've had K&N and Volant and like things about both of them, and disliked some thing about them! I have never had any issues with oiled filters and really don't think they cause any issues. But with the 2 systems I had I would buy a Volant again, I just like the enclosed filter box. Not that the K&N was bad but it is an open element in your engine bay.
