    hid problems

Alright heres the deal, I have had hids for about 2 years now never no problems other than a few ballasr going bad. Last week my left light wouldnt come on so I figured it was the ballast, had an extra, swapped it out and nothing. I didnt have any extra bulbs, so just to see if plug was getting power plugged a oem light into factory plug and it worked, so I figured it was the hid light. So I just went ahead and ordered a new kit to have the extra ballast laying around when I need them, hooked the new ballast and bulb up and still nothing??? Checked the oem light again and it still works, what is going on here?? please help thanx NIck

I had a similar problem on mine and all I had to do was swap the polarity of the wires going to the bulb and they worked fine. What type of kit did you get?

Mine would come on, then if I switched ballasts or moved them, they wouldn't work anymore until I switched the wires. Not sure if my kit is the same as yours...

its just weird that it has worked for so long and now its not, I wonder if the ballast is not getting enough power from the factory plug to fire up the ballast?? I did notice a little black residue on the factory plug
