    5.3 Swap into a K-5

    I am looking to swap a 5.3 into my 74 k-5 Blazer

So what are the major issues that i will be needing to look out for? Should i be able to get the motor in with out cutting the frame rail, would LS2 style manifolds make the swap easier?

What are you guys using for the extra fuses that are needed with the new engine?

Where are you guys mounting your PCM?

For guys running a manual transmission, how do you deal with the NSS, do you jsut jumper it? I am wondering if this will limit the engine proformance if it thinks its not in gear

As far as fuses go you will probably want to get a custom wire harness made. this will include your fuses and relays and work with the stuff you will be retaining. Not sure about the frame though but I would think it should not be hard there are others swapping into 70s style trucks so there are probably mount adapters available.

    I just put a 6.0/4l80e in my 86 2wd
used carshopinc motor plates, worked fine.
My harness went to speartech. Right now I have 98-02 fbody exhaust manifolds on there, just waiting for headers to be done.
I mounted my pcm on drivers inner fender, plenty of room.
