    EFI live

I did a search and couldn't find what i was looking for so. How many of you guys are using EFI live to tune your trucks. I was looking to tune my truck and tune my dad duramax with it. I saw that alot of you are using HPtuner and i considered it but I think EFI live is a little better for a duramax and I am hoping for the old man to throw me a few bucks so i can tune his truck to. I mean I will tune his truck if he chips in or not. But any way are there any down falls to using EFI live on our trucks.

I honestly think that EFI live is more in depth and well thought out than HPTuners. The guys that own HPTuners are rocket scientist and do not speak my kind of english...in other words...if you do not speak the terminology...they do not know you. Just my two cents

my trucks tuned with EFI live and I love it and when I get my truck tuned by my local tuner I can understand everything he shows and tells me pretaining to it, and I went from a 16.2 to a 15.3 with just a tune and a flowmaster. Tom the local tuner has tuned Dmaxes with Efi live and has had great outcomes. Great software

I have and use EFILive , never used HPTuners but either one will do the job , I do think EFILive has a slight advantage in the Dmax area , selectable tunes and all .
Now what is a tune again?

I have used both, and I prefer the interface of EFILive over HPTuners. Realistically, both have almost identical functionality. Make your choice based on payment system (HPT credits vs EFILive PCM licensing) and which interface you like better. Both with do the same stuff.

I do agree that EFILive has a much greater presence in the diesel tuning area. If you're doing diesel stuff, it is probably the way to go.

I just had a fun experience trying to help a buddy do some idle tuning with HPT....I couldn't figure out how to select the parameters I wanted to log. I'm pretty computer savvy, and the interface that HPT uses for it's scanner was not intuitive at all. We never did figure out how to do what we were trying to do.
