Well I got a freebie
I got a freebie 5.3 with 50K two bad lifters and needs a cam.
I think I am gonna do a low budget build on it. Wondering where some of you guys would start. I am thinking about just throwing LS6 intake, cam and heads on it, getting a program and seeing how I like her. If y'all got some more effective ideas I would love to hear them.

ok so if it has 2 bad lifters... chances are you cam looked like mine did.... CRAP
so start by pulling the heads and since they are off go ahead and have them cleaned up and done right... new cam with all the goodies (i suggest prc dual springs) and then since it already doesnt have accesories on it you could go with an ls1/2/6 intake and use f-body water pump etc etc... ls1tech has some goos stuff for sale you might wanna check out... then while your at it do the ls2 lifters (if you wanna go that route) and might as well throw a new oil pump and timing chain... then tear it all apart and forge teh bottome end and put 30 pounds of boost through a massive turbo and make 8 bajillion hp/tq

Yeah man...first things first--tear that motor down and check it all out first. Clean up EVERYTHING. Since you are doing this on a budget, go have the heads polished and honed, get a cam and accessories, LS2 intake, 90mm TB, F-body accessories, 1.8 rockers, LT headers, etc. It should run REALLY well!
