When i do mine while im at it, im gunna put in efans, asp pullies, 160* tstat, maybe even a crome alternator and water pump. kill a few birds with one stone. but other than that get coolant too.

Post up your future goals. Times you'd like to run. Aspirated or non-aspirated. Buying a torque converter to go with it? Planning other mods?

You'll definitely, without question, want new springs. 918's are typical but I believe there are some issues with those as of late, so maybe 921's. And since you're doing springs, you should do the pushrods while you're in there.

tr220 (or tsp w/e) on a 112 in a 5.3 makes good power with a set of longtubes, 3000+ stall, 4.10's, and a good tune.. i think its a pretty proven combo, time and time again... i personally run this same cam in my 4.8 and she seams to love it.
112 sounds lopey.. wider lsa's sound more "stock".
if you plan of shooting gas... i would get a 220/224 on a 114...
    just my .2

Z06 cam. You can find them on Ebay used for 75-150.. way cheaper than a custom grind & they're a great all around cam. 'Specially on the street. They mellow out a little in a 6.0. In a 5.3 they're on the upper end of mild & in a 4.8 they rock that block.
