    PCM compatibility question

Ok, on my 2003 Silverado 5.3L, it has PCM service #12582605

Last friday i installed soem 05+ OEM efans and the bigger radiator, and tried to reflash the PCm with a stock 2005 5.3 cal file, but got an error message that said the cal file i was trying to flash with was from a different pcm service number, it was from pcm 12589463 and my original cal was from 12582605 and that the new file may not be compatible with my pcm, which it wasnt, it tried to reflash it 3 times with no luck.

So i wanted to see if there was any other PCM numbers besides the one the cal file cam from that will work, i have a complete harness nd computer from a 2004 blazer with a 4.3/4L60E that is service #12586243, and it it is compatible than i could swap it in then do the reflash.

Im looking to get the efans working with the PCM and not just with the a/c running, so far it has been staying cool just fine, but id like to atleast have it running with a stock 2005 program atleast til i can get the cash to have nelson tune it for me.

well i dont have the def file for tunercat that will work with the 03-05 trucks, i have 96-97 trucks and 01-02 trucks so i cant go in and just modify my stock program, and since i want to get a tune from NP i dont want to drop the 80 bucks to buy the def file to change my stock program, because once i get the NP tune i will no longer be able to make any changes to my PCm because it will be locked. Basically just trying to save 80 bucks.

Does Nelson lock PCM's when they program them? I have a 96 GMC and I am using a 12200411 PCM, it was used in trucks and corvettes up to 2004.5 I believe. I have dual fans turned on.
