    what kind of gains?

what would it do to my truck if i bought a stock z06 cam for my truck, reg cab 4.8l. following that all i would need are new valve springs and a tune right? idk i really want to do something like that, that i can afford. i allready bought a new locker for it and 4:10s . if i could i would want it to do mid 14s. i went to the track and ran 15.6 on just a intake and exhaust so.

Tune it first. Then do the cam and spring swap. The next tune should be an update tune. They are free at some places.

i think if you a tune and 4.10s you'll have a mid 14 truck. i run a 14.7 with Nelson Tune, 4.10s (one tire fire), cutout and drop in K&N. with a posi i'm sure i could knock off a 14.4

Nelson's Tune knocked a 1 Second off of my 1/4 mile. click the link in my sig.

thats what i really want to do but how much do tunes cost from nelson performance. i saw that they have the old price for like 490 i think thats what it was. but if i bought a z06 cam how much of a horsepower gain would i get like 40 horses. and could i just get new fuel injectors on just the cam for more power.

375 plus shipping. get the 93 tune if you have 93 oct. were you live. if not get the highest octane tune you can. up to 35hp and I got 2 seconds off 0-60 and 1 second off 1/4.

if you get the cam, some guys claim 40-50whp. but thats with headers, intake and such. I advise like he said above. get the tune now. and update it as you moddify your engine and stuff. updates are free. with the tune, id expect 14.5 - 15.0 maybe on your 1/4 mile. could be more, could be a little less.
but youll love it. higher shift rpms, firmer shifts. better power curve and even mpg.
