    me vs. 350z

    Well I put up a good fight. I got the cutout on about an hour ago and the roommate wanted to run. Not that I would feel that much of a difference as far as performance wise with it open, but hell I wanted to see what I could do.

    He has an 03 350z 6spd with: intake/full exhaust/plenum intake manifold/short throw shifter/suspension/nitto555s. Its a pretty bad car.

    We ran from a 60 3 times. He was barely walking me up to 90 (1/2 to a car to a full one), but when I hit *edit*THIRD, that was all she wrote. It felt like my truck hit a wall and yeah he put a few lengths on me. I know those z's are top end crazy, but I still wanted to try it from a roll. We never got to run from a dig, but it wouldnt be too good because of me being traction impaired.

    Oh well. I figured he would beat me anyways, but now im just ready to put this power to the ground.

    Yeah, those VQ35 motors in the 350Z and G35 are pretty potent--especially when modded like your roommates car. Just a few things to do to your truck until you pull on him...start saving some $$$...

    theres no reason that you should be hitting 4th...maybe your feeling the converter lock up. next time allen is tuning your truck tell him to set up your converter to not lock up under WOT. i was shifting that motor at 6200 and it was pulling to that point just fine. i had a few extra bolt ons on top of it though.

    I think that might have been it. I mean after 90, I swear I felt it shift, and it was just barely going. I dunno. I think next weekend if he goes to SAR ill have him do it there.

    it was probably shifting into 3rd and not 4th.....

    mine does that... i shift out of 2nd into 3rd about 95-99mph and it just falls on its face when it does

    gotta love that VQ engine for a non Forced induction 6 cylinder they are torque monsters. they pull at any rpm.

    how do you hold out 2nd till 90, i think mine shifts at 80 at 5900 into third. different gears maybe

    The VQ motor they are referring to is the 350z motor. I believe?

    I need to actually see where I shift at, I always forget to glance at it before it shifts.
