    help me choose a cam.

These are the choices I've come up with.
    214/218 .600/.598 115 lsa on 110 icl
    216/220 .600/.598 115 lsa on 110 icl
    220/224 .600/.598 114 lsa on 110 icl

Goal: To get the fastest 1/4 mile time i can out of this stock 5.3 with my mods and still have a daily driver. i'll be happy with 11.99 - 11.5.

    My mod are:
complete true dual exhaust no cats.
Edlebrocks lingenfelter 61969 heads(on the way)
    ps1 procharger 8-10 psi now.
    Flt l5 4l65E
    meth kit
2600 pi stall will only break stall to 2500 now
    3.90 truetrac rear.

    everthing else is stock.

when you suggest one please give me your reason why don't want just a gut feeling lol.

Just from what we've done, you'll need a higher stall than that with a cammed procharger. You won't hit 11's with a stall that small.
As you probably know, the procharger is going to be great in the higher mid range and topend, so the higher you spin it, the more boost, the more power, the faster, etc., etc.
That being said, you need to get off the with boost. You won't do that with a 2500rpm stall converter. Swap it out with a converter that will stall to at least 3200rpms or you won't be going anywhere off the line, which is directly related to the et.
Plus, after each shift, you won't have to build boost again with a higher stall.
I know you didn't ask for this answer, but we've been through this before and it's always nice to get close to your goal the first time around, we always end up putting a larger converter than what the customer wanted originally.
Plus, if that's a P series charger, you'll need those shift pionts around 6600rpms to get the full 12psi (rpm=boost).

I'd go with the larger cam so it will pull into the higher rpms.

good luck on your goal and post up your #'s,

    allen

what if I spray off the line. say a 50 dry shot?
is it even safe to spin my engine up to 6600 rpms?
    will that get me there?

or should I just take the converter out a restall to say 3400.

That'll work, it'll get your truck off the line.
Sure, most 220 cams shift at 6500rpms, LS1's do it all the time, so do 5.3's and 4.8's.

okay so then then a 50 shot and the 220/224 .600/598 what would be better a 114 ,115, or a 116 lsa and does this change the power band.

that would move the powerband up a bit.

    I suggested on pt.net a 214/224 on a 115+4.

I also agree that you'll want more stall.
