    installing drop shackles

Is it fairly straight forward? raise the axle, unbolt old shackle and install new ones? I dont need new shocks do I?

You shouldn't need new shocks for just the 2" rear drop. It is pretty straight forward, could be completed in around 30 minutes or so. Just make sure you take the pressure off the leaf springs before you take the stock shackles off.

That's it. Raise the rear axle high enough to put stands under the frame, lower the rear. You need just a smidge of air under the tires or the axle will still have a load on it. Remove the nuts for the shackles and jack the rear end up slightly until you can remove the bolts. Replace with the longer shackle and re-install. Do one side at a time.

thanks guys, I'll be putting them on this weekend, and I'll get some before and after pics. Possibly some pics of the new truck if I decide to get it.

Oh yeah, you may have to disconnect one end of the shocks to get full droop.
