Thread: Need cam advice

    Hey guys! Wanting to install a killer cam in my truck but, have no cam experience. 4.8L with slp headers, 4.56 gears. K&N cold air box. Any suggestions? I like the way blue cajuns truck runs.
    2000 Chevrolet Silverado, 4.8L, K&N polished intake, 4.10 gears, 20x9 KMC SS on front, 22x10 on rear, Dual style pillar gauges, steel cowl hood, 2" rear drop shackles, true duals w/IMCO extreme mufflers w/dumps at rear end, SLP headers. Cam and nelson tune soon to come!!!!!

    Since you are running LT&#39;s and 4.56 gears, you can run a decently high duration, but you don&#39;t want to "over cam" you motor. Maybe a TS 220/220 or maybe even a TS 224R--both with a 112 LSA (choppy idle) or a 114 LSA (smoother idle). Take a look .

    Also do you have any 1/4 mile times...i am real intrested in how that 4:56 setup works for you

    Na not yet. Been working just about every weekend and when I&#39;m not I have been mowing grass and doing honey do&#39;s. But as soon as I get some I will let ya know bro. I know that when I went from 3.42&#39;s to 4.10&#39;s it was a night and day difference. But when I went from 4.10 to 4.56&#39;s my tire spin went insane . I can smoke em down now. As far as traction goes if I had some good tires I could tell ya but haven&#39;t tried.

    Awesome truck. I bet it rumbles pretty good.
