So I woke up this morning with the MASSIVE urge to swap my old cam back into my truck. Basically wanting to see if my theory is correct about it dropping a few .10s of a sec back to its old average at the track... WELL I start calling around for a crank bolt. Local dealership doesnt have one. BUT one town over does. So the pops and I drive down to pick up this lil bolt so we can start the swap. So as I stand inline I am talking with a customer about this bolt. And explaining I put a new bolt in every time I take the front of the motor off just as a safety measure basically. So finally my turn in line comes up. This "parts manager" first goes looking. Doesnt find anything. Looks at his computer walks around the area some more. Finally comes back holding a bolt. Puts it on the counter... The bolt he puts down has maybe a 13mm head about 2 1/2 inches long and Maybe the thickness of my pinky. I explain this isnt the right bolt. I stated the bolt I am looking for goes on the into the crank through the pulley. Is about 4 inches or so long. About a 24mm head and is a lil thicker then my thumb. His phrase was "NO it isnt, this is what you are needing". I tell him no I am looking for a much bigger bolt. He responds "look I have it on the computer. Want to see" so I respond Yes I do. He spins it around I point to the exact bolt on this lil screen I need. And he says " Yeah thats that bolt right there" Noooo it isnt i say. Then get this. AT A DEALERSHIP "Well I tell you what Why dont you go somewhere you can get it then!" I walk out and call his manager over his attitude and OVERALL stupidity in the situation. Havent been this pissed in a while. Manager appologizes. Apparently knew the sec I told him a 13mm bolt was put on the table that the employee was wrong. And knew the bolt I was talking about was much larger then that himself. Said he would deal with the situation and appologizes for his employees attitude.
