Well, another set back on our quest for 10's. We did a little tranny work and put it back in the Silverado SS.
Went out and stalled it up to 7psi and POP, broke the output shaft in half.
I think we are making a little power Now its time for the customer to spend $570 on a hardened shaft. We are giving the 4l65 one more shot before upgrading to the 4l80.

Damn, you guys are tough on trucks. What next, driveshaft, rear axle, u-joints, lug bolts? Who's taking bets?

I am a little worried about the driveshaft. All I can do is tell the customer.
We have a Hummer that is getting more motor than the Silverado SS and he is getting a turbo. We are skipping the 65 and going straight to the 80.

Yeah, I remember talking about the Hummer. I need it's engine to swap out the 4.8L in the 07.

I hope for $570 it is a billet output shaft. Unfortunately the input sprag or drum will be the next thing you explode. Sounds like you are (forgive me for saying this) making to much power. Vince

There's no such thing as "Too Much" power... Why not push this tranny as far as it will go first, for bragging rights, then upgrade to the 4l80... Not many 4l65 tranny's in a 6,000 lb. truck doing AWD lunches at 10 lbs. of boost running 10's in the 1/4... That would be one hell of an accomplishment if you ask me....But, who knows, anything could happen at this point....
2004 SSS.. Force Fed 408.. STS @ 10psi.. Best 1/8th was a 7.35 @ 91mph and a 1.69 60' at Kennedale.. All made possible by TRT Performance, Arlington TX..
