This is the story.... ENJOY!

The truck was overheating, so the A/C wasn't cold and it was hotter than a BITCH! My Tranny was running way higher than normal. Its usually around 150 or so and it was up to 200. I had just exeted the highway to go home and caught a stop light, I turned my truck off so that it might cool just alittle bit, I was just trying to get it to the house. The light turned green and I turned then truck back on, put it in drive, and BAM. It died! I was like WTF! Started it again, it was having trouble idleing and I kind of reved it a little, put it in drive and BAM it died. Tried it in reverse, and it died. I was pissed. The only person that would answer the phone was jethro. He had no Idea what was wrong. I had my hood up and flashers on and dumbass people kept getting behind me and honking and shit, im like WTF!!! Dont you see my hood up. haha Jethro heard me yelling back at some of them. Neway. I pushed it into a parking lot and just starting looking around in the engine bay AIR INTAKE TUBE POPED OFF!! So it was tricking the MAF. Thats why it would barely idle and wouldnt rev. So the question. After 2000 miles of not taking the intake tube off. Why did it suddenly pop off?

Maybe the clamp broke? I assume it came off the throttle body?

Could be it's just been working its way off over time.

Yeah. The clamp was not broke. I fixed it right there and drove it home. Guess it just worked its way off

Yeah, those clamps that rely on tension can (overtime) loosen themselves and come off. I've seen that happen more times than not...

The temperature issue....a mystery still, or did replacing the intake tube fix that too? If it did, how would the tube being off affect the coolant temps?

For the temp, my efan controller must have gone bad. I bought a new one and it fixed it.

After I pushed it in the parking lot and looked at the motor for about 2 minutes. I figured you were working

wow, you pushed that big ol' truck all by yourself? It's not like you have much weight to throw behind it. Hell, I can lean against it and get it rolling.
