Thread: sucky times again

well i just got back from the track here in edinburg and did 3 passes, the 1st one i ran a 60ft of 1.91, 330@5.62, 1/8th@8.73@76.24mph and a 13.84@96.59mph, this was stalling @ 1100rpm's, the 2nd pass i ran a 60ft@1.98, 330@5.73, 1/8th@8.87@75.67mph, and a 14.05@94.69, and this was stalling @1900rpm's, then on the final pass did a 60ft@1.94, 330@5.63, 1/8th@8.72@78.04mph and a 13.75@97.96mph, and this was stalling almost idling@900-1000rpm's, it feels like and sounds that my truck luggs out 1/2way before getting to the 1/8mile, telling me that my stall is locking to soon and not at WOT and losing top end,

Unlock the convertor at WOT. There's two ways of going that. One with the tune and the other with a toggle switch to break the electronic power circuit to the TCC. You might get an SES code with the switch, though.

was getting better 60fts' with tbstall but in cold weather, though, and also what would be the best speed to lockup the verter, do ya'll think around 110-115mph would be fine, what do yall think. and would i need to go see allen for the lockup tune or can i just call him and tell him to unlock it at WOT.

That or splice the switch into the brown/black wire from the Red PCM connector pin 42 or down on the transmission end it's terminal T. That is the grounding circuit for the TCC. You could hook two switches to it, one to break the circuit so that it doesn't lock up and another one to ground it and manually lock the TCC when you're on the dyno and want the power locked to the rollers.

Are you sure you're not getting some detonation? Maybe too much meth? Going to the taller tire is kind of like switching to 3.73 gears from the 4.10s you had before. The tire by itself can slow you down.

Nope, no pics available. When I go to the dyno they always have problems keeping the convertor locked so I dug out the ATSG service manual and researched this extensively. You can just pull the fuse that powers the TCC to see if that does what you want it to do. I'd research and see if that fuse powers anything else before pulling it for the test.

We seem to have a rash of guys running worse this spring than last year. What's up with that?

but i think it relys on the tc cuz had the tbstall for a while was trapping low speeds, then put on the stock one again and gained it all back, then put the pi vig 2600, supossably the best stall, and still trapping low speeds, so i think it relies on the TC lockup of something,
