My turbo build- Special shout out to EmmerichLSX

So i finally broke down and started getting stuff together go to turbo...and i cant wait to finally get it running! I want to give a BIG thanks to EmmerichLSX for all his help. I met the guy a few months back on the site when he was wanted to buy my nitrous kit so from my lack of knowledge i thought trading the kit for an intercooler he had was a good deal but he refused it and said he would give me the intercooler and $200 for the nitrous kit ( i only wanted 300 for the kit). He could have easily taken advatage of me but didnt and that shows quality in a man. Thanks bro. He has been a LOT of help and is full of knowledge about FI. He was going to build my hot side parts but i found some off a guy for a price he couldnt beat. Anyways the guy is great to work with and a hoot to talk to so if anyone is interested in going turbo i would highly reccomend giving him a shout. I wouldnt be near this far in the build if i wasnt for his help...thanks again man!

Back to the build :)! So for the turbo i went with a turbonetics 70mm .81 a/r i picked up from emmerichLSX for a good deal, for the cold side i got a universal kit of ebay for like a hundred bucks and fabbed up the cold side myself, for the hot side im using trick stage 4 ss hot pipes. Im using godspeed BOV and wastegate. For the fuel i put in a walbro 255, but im still pondering on injectors...its either between SVO 42#ers or some 60ers. i havent made up my mind yet. Im gonna be doing the tuning, with some help from allen hopefully, and im gonna do a 2bar SD tune , wish me luck! lol

Looking very nice. I vote get the 60's or bigger just to be on the safe side and leaves more room to grow. :devil:

UPDATE- I gave in an went ahead and got a set of siemens deka flow-matched 60#ers...I fired it up friday and downloaded a tune to just get it running and took it for a drive..all i have to say is HOLT S#!t!!!! It is making some crazy power.. it is way stouter than it was on the 150 shot. I am def addicted to turbos now! I had the tune way on the safe side (timing way low and the AFR running pig rich in boost) so i didnt hurt anything..so im guessing it should wake up a good bit when i get the tune dialed in

It would cost as much to swap everything on the truck for FI as it would to buy the kit lol

i have less than 3k in everything...its cheaper to piece together your own kit. here is a break down of what i have invested in parts for the build- $600 for turbo, $100 for intercooler, $175 for cold side piping, $400 for injectors, $1000 for hot side parts, $100 for BOV, $125 for wastegate, $50 for 2 bar map, $100 for credits to upgrade to 2 bar operating system in pcm, $50 for oil feed and return lines, and then another $100 for misc fittings and odds n ends

That's not bad at all. But I'd need gears, lower stall, cam, and drop compression a ton, I run square port heads so can't just toss 317s on it. Maybe a winter project.

Why why and why? High stall is fun with boost, tall gears are ok (not great). Yeah cam might make a difference, but what compression are you?

ha na man im still upgrading the one i got...gonna ditch the current cam i got and getting a cam spec'd from pat g. And the Godspeed wastegate has to go; thinkin about getting a tial. Pm me and i can help you put together a kit like mine if your interested
