When he raced Vegas they claimed all he did to race was lower the tire pressure and put better gas in it. They said all he did to the motor all weekend was lash the valves once on Thursday. I think he takes the air cleaners off too. But they said he ran 204mph with the air cleaners on.
6.9 @209 thats insane
Mike woods had to pull his 80e and replace the input shaft on day 4. DO yall know how hard it is to pull a trans off a dmax? lol still my favorite car... ever
There is a car here in the surrounding area,Black Nova big block twin turbo that is just about the same as that car. I see him running the 1/8th mile and it is nasty! He is not quite as fast , but very close,
Jamest
I still wouldn't consider this a street car.
The rules seem pretty cool. Here is a link to them for those who don't know. http://www.hotrod.com/upcomingevents...eks/index.html
Here, have a beer....Now go drive this kid around....hahaha.
All cars are street cars, just depends on how much you're willing to deal with.
It's a drag car..just bc it has lights and is tagged doesn't make it a street car...my dirt bike has lights and is tagged and can be ridden on the street but it doesn't make it a street bike..it's still a dirt bike no matter how u look at it and that's still a drag car
How can it not be a street car. For Drag Week they have to drive around 1,000 miles to race at 5 different drag strips with no support vehicle, all in one week.
Some daily driver cars you see on the road would break if they tried to do this.
It also has to have all the safety equipment required for the ET it runs.
Ok so it's a drag car that's built right....still a drag car
Nope, drag cars can't do it. A well built street car can though.
Lol.....your just happy someone posted up a fast big block car aren't you?
haha I opened up a can of worms with this thread. But the whole street car debate is such a touchy subject, there seems to be no clear defined rules that goes across the board for what is considered a street car. Its like revisiting the FORD VS GM debate. Just opinions is all it turns out to be
So what you're saying is, we're entitled to our own opinions!? Blasphemy!!!
Or that you're just clueless... Or the fact that no one cares, this is LS1truck.com... not if I wanted to build a big block I could truck.com.
That car drove 1500+ miles in a week and made countless passes... it's a street car!!
Street car= vehicle that can legally be driven on the streets. It drove on the streets and has all safety equipment. Street car.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.... you're not allowed to quote yourself. http://static.funnyjunk.com/pictures...e_by_zero3.jpg
Rocket statistics:
Sammy Miller ran the 1/4 mile in 3.58 seconds at 386 mph in 2002.
Deaf stunt woman Kitty O'Neill (the movie about her is "Silent Victory") covered a standing start 1/4 mile in 1977 in incredible 3.235 seconds at 412 mph. I believe this was on a desert race course, not a paved race track, and as such there was a lot more shut down area...
There is a "Swissrocketman" car running in the low 3's at over 450 mph.
CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM IS BETTER!
Lmao
my cousins big block pretty much overheats at the end of the 1/4 mile. It runs low 6's...heavily sprayed big block. Fast car, no doubt, but I'd rather own my truck. I'll take a 13 second car I can drive whenever I want over a 6 second car i get to drive maybe 3 miles a year. He sold his 12 second street car for the 6 second race car. All a matter of preference. That guy has a 7 second car he can drive whenever he wants.... WIN lol
Still pretty sure cops could issue him about 10982123 tickets if they wanted, so not sure how 'street legal' it is. I mean, technically MY truck isn't street legal. Definitions have lot of grey lines.
I'm sure one of the first things a cop would have a problem with is how the chute covers part of the license plate. But he could fix that pretty easy.
Since it's a car from the 60s it's pretty much exempt from everything else, and he runs DOT slicks on it, so they're legal.
