Got the axe today along with a gaggle of fellow employees at Halliburton. I could see the train wreck a mile away before it happened. Oh well, anyone need some work done? I have plenty of spare time and work cheap.

Effin A man. That sucks Greg. Sorry to hear that.
I didn't think you had experience in the field. Check em out anyways I know they've been hiring out of dallas for all types of engineers.
Land on your feet please Greg. Try west a few miles, there's your type of industry there.

Good news, well, a plus anyway. I have an interview Monday at L3 Communications/Aircraft Monday and a preliminary phone interview Wednesday with Bell Helicopter. Lets see if I can baffle them with my :cowl: since its hard to dazzle them with my brilliance.. :)
Good luck Greg! You'll get something soon! Bell Helicopter would be an awesome job!

Sorry to hear about that. Contract work for the government is usually a little more stable if you are willing to look. Check out websites for these companies and you might just find something that you are looking for. Im a Systems Analyst Senior Professional down in Fort Hood. Basically just a computer geek that teaches, builds and works on 17 servers for the military. They are not limited to the computer field though. They take people for technical fields, mechanics, staff workers, etc.

Good luck Greg let us know how it goes
Sucks to hear about your job loss. I was laid off Nov 4th, 2009 (IT support guy). I just accepted a position at the state for an IT guy. Its crazy job searching, when it rains it pours with interviews...at least that's what happened with me anyways.
Thanks, going for 2nd interview at Bell Helicopter Monday. The jobs that require gov't clearance are such a PITA.
Bell Helicopter sounds promising but no replies back so far.
L3 Communications, had a 2nd interview with them Monday, met all the guys I'd be working with and spent a couple hours with the interview and baffled them with my b.s. Waiting on a money offer now.
Friday, I have an interview at mother Halliburton in Conroe doing the same thing I did in Carrollton. :thumb:
